About the event

Join us online for performances from poets Jasmine Plaskon, Michael Chang, E. Hughes, and Annie Grizzle!

Annie Grizzle is a poet interested in the visual and sonic capabilities of language. Her chapbook I Wake With Eyes The Sound of Nectarines was published in 2023 by Ursus Americanus Press. She lives in Milwaukee, WI.

MICHAEL CHANG (they/them) is the author of many collections of poetry, including SYNTHETIC JUNGLE (Northwestern University Press, 2023) & EMPLOYEES MUST WASH HANDS (GreenTower Press, 2024). They edit poetry at Fence.

E. Hughes is the author of the poetry collection Ankle-Deep in Pacific Water forthcoming from Haymarket Books (2024). They received their MFA in poetry and MA in English Literature from the Litowitz Creative Writing Program at Northwestern University. Their poems have been published in Guernica Magazine, Poet Lore, Indiana Review, Gulf Coast Magazine, and The Rumpus—among others. They are a Cave Canem fellow and was a semifinalist in the 2022 and 2023 92Y Discovery Contest and longlisted for the 2021 Granum Fellowship Prize. Currently, Hughes is a PhD student in Philosophy at Emory University.

Jasmine Plaskon (she/they) is a Black multi-disciplinary artist who does almost all her own stunts. She is an avid creator with her hands – jewelry, occult readings, writing, art, and more. She received her MFA from Spalding University and can be found in some of the following places: Fourth River Review, The Sante Fe Literary Review, Peach Velvet Mag, Sundress Publications, and Winter Tangerine. Jasmine’s first book, I Am The Final Girl, is in a furious state of being made. When Jasmine isn’t busy ticking away at the computer, she enjoys reading, swimming, tending to her spiritual studies, and the occasional bout of crying over fictional characters with her husband and dog. Current favorite: Tokyo Revengers!
